Sierra Leone cuts GST registration threshold

The Finance Act of 2022 has introduced a reduction in the annual Goods and Services registration threshold. It has been cut from SSL 350million to SLL 100million (approx €7,800 or $8,720).

Other GST changes included:

  • The delayed payment interest charge for GST payments has been cut to 1/12th of the central bank lending rate
  • Zero-rating for certain solar power supplies
  • Zero-rating for range of agricultural and other supplies
  • 1.5%Digital Services Tax(first introduced 2021)

The current VAT rate in Sierra Leone is 15%.
