Kyrgyzstan increases VAT registration threshold

Kyrgyz Republic quadruples threshold to take many businesses out of VAT obligations

The Central Asian state of Kyrgyzstan has raised its Value Added Tax registration threshold from to KGS 30million (approx €285,000 or $315,000) from KGS 8 million.  This has been retrospectively imposed from 1 January 2022.

Non-resident providers of digital services have been liable to VAT obligations since 1 January 2022. They may not use the VAT registration threshold – they must register under the simplified process immediately.

The current VAT rate in Kyrgyzstan is 12%.
