Further extension of 8% reduction in VAT rates for accommodation, restaurants and hotels
The Peruvian Congress has agreed a further temporary reduction in the Value Added Tax rate on tourism and hospitality.
This includes:
- Hotel and similar accommodation
- Restaurant and café services
- Catering services
The rate has been reduced from the standard VAT rate of 18% to 8% since 1 September 2022. This will be in place until 1 January 2027. It will then rise to 12%.
