Slovenia introduced its system of certified cash registers on 2 January 2016.
Registers are connected via the internet to the tax authorities, Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia (FURS), via the internet. This enables real-time reporting of cash payments. Slovenia’s FIRS is particularly interested in targeting cash wage payments to employees held off the accounting books to avoid taxes.
The register markets on the receipts with:
- Time stamp;
- Vendor unique stamp;
- EOR code, a live unique receipt number issued by FURS; and
- ZOI code, and unique vender identifier.
The obligation excludes: market food vendors and vending machines.
