Mauritania e-invoicing

Oct 2023 launch of electronic e-invoicing regime

The west African country of Mauritania’s Minister of Finance has published regulations for the introduction of e-invoicing. This would be a phased introduction of live VAT invoice reporting.

Mauritania is proposing a pre-clearance regime, with invoices having to be sent first to the tax office, the Mauritanian Revenue Authority, before issuing to customers – Continuous Transaction Controls. This is done via an Electronic Billing System for sales and stock reporting. Point of Sales and ERP systems may be linked to the EBS. Approved interfaces and fiscal registers must be acquired to link to an Invoice Fiscalization Platform.

Initially, only businesses with a turnover in excess of Mauritian Rupees 100 million are mandated to comply with the new requirements. This should apply from October 2023.
